Research on Blended Online Learning Design (BOLD) is the initiative of professors Michael Power (Université Laval) and Norman Vaughan (Mount Royal College), as well as a network of graduate students in educational technology interested in instructional design, distance education, online learning and graduate studies.

The goal is the creation of a community of inquiry to experiment with various forms of instructional design for online courses featuring both a synchronous and asynchronous components at dual-mode universities (offering courses both on campus and online).

Accessing the BOLD website at www.bold-research.org (currently under construction), researchers and graduate students from all over the world will have a place to gather, exchange views, read publications and attend online conferences, in a cost-effective, efficient and user-friendly way. The BOLD Website will be maintained by the research community at large.
